چکیده
Objective: To determine the liver function assessment in patients presented with hepatocellular carcinoma. Methodology: This cross-sectional study was done at gastroenterology departments of Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad and Indus Medical College TM Khan. Patients an age range 20 to 70 years, both genders, having carcinoma were included study. A 5 mL blood sample taken from each participant sent hospital diagnostic laboratory assess serum bilirubin level albumin level. The albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) score used for hepatic function. Data collected using a self-made research proforma, it analyzed SPSS 26. Results: total 58 cases HCC assessed regarding mean 55.39+12.39 years. Males majority 75.9%, females 24.1%. (72.4%) had child Pugh class C, 12.1% B, 15.5% A. Elevated levels Alpha-fetoprotein significantly associated C (p= <0.05). Most cases, 67.3%, ALBI > − 1.39, 10.3% 2.59 22.4% ≤ 2.60. Conclusion: Severe dysfunction observed be frequently high among carcinoma, as most stage 3. Due extremely small size this study, results are not trustworthy. متن کاملEvaluation of liver and kidney function in favism patients
Backgrounds: G6PD deficiency is the most common enzymopathy of red blood cells. The clinical symptoms of favism are jaundice, hematuria and haemolytic anaemia that seem to affect liver and kidney in long term. Thus we evaluate kidney and liver function of favism patients in an endemic area of the disease with a high rate of fava beans cultivation. Methods: This study was performed on favism pa...
متن کاملEvaluation of serum AFP (α-fetoprotein) level in HBsAg carrier patients for diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma
Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is common all over the world as well as Iran. The incidence of HCC is higher in hepatitis B carriers and it is highly recommended to periodically screen these patients by serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and liver ultrasound (US) every 6 months. We explore the diagnostic accuracy and the performance of (AFP) in cases of hepatitis B carriers as a scree...

Purpose: Alteration of liver function during progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and cirrhosis affects the serum glycoprotein pattern. In this study, the changes in the N-glycome in liver tissue from patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and cirrhosis caused by hepatitis B virus infection were investigated to find out the relationship between this maker and liver disease. Methods: Tw...
